An Italian style inlaid musical work table

A Continental musical work table of mixed wood construction, likely mahogany or walnut, featuring multi-wood marquetry inlay. The rectangular hinged top is decorated with elaborate marquetry depicting scrolling foliate and arabesque motifs in various light and dark woods. The lid opens on a piano hinge to reveal a partitioned interior containing four open compartments. The table is supported on four slender cabriole legs. It is fitted with a musical movement, operated by a fixed T-bar winding key located on the underside. A key is present in the lock.
