Description
A two-part decorative container and vessel fashioned from cast composite material to simulate an aged human skull, designed in the style of a Himalayan ritual kapala. The object features a removable cranium lid and is detailed with various incised symbolic carvings, including a stylized third eye within a triangular frame on the frontal bone and two circular solar wheel motifs on the parietal region. The interior of the lower section houses a fitted, heavy clear glass circular bowl, suggesting use as a tea light holder or offering vessel. The surface is finished with a dark pigment to simulate natural patination and highlight moulded cranial sutures. The posterior of the skull is decorated with vertical columns of stylized characters resembling Chinese Seal script or talismanic script.
Length: approximately 135 mm.
