A Collection of Vintage British and International Folding Maps and Travel Guides

This collection comprises an assortment of printed maps and travel brochures, predominantly focused on the United Kingdom with some European and international examples. The collection includes several series from the Ordnance Survey (OS). Notable items include a New Popular Edition One-Inch Map of England and Wales: Liverpool (Sheet 100) with a 1947 revision, a Seventh Series One-Inch Map of Liverpool (Sheet 100), and a One-Inch Map of Teesdale (Sheet 84). More modern OS maps include Landranger 1:50,000 sheets for Manchester, Blackburn and Burnley, and Preston and Blackpool, as well as an Explorer 292 map for Withernsea and Spurn Head and an Outdoor Leisure 41 map for the Forest of Bowland. Also present is an OS Touring Map and Guide for the Yorkshire Dales. Other British maps include a Bartholomew Revised Half-Inch Contoured Map of Merseyside and a Geographia Main Roads Map of the British Isles. Travel guides and ephemera include a 1985/86 Visitors Guide to Central London from London Transport, an RAC booklet on the Lake District, a Newquay and District street map, and folding guides or maps for Malta and Gozo, Lanzarote, and Holland. The maps are primarily paper-based, with some older examples being cloth-backed. Covers vary from card to paper.
