Description

A diverse collection of twelve silver plated flatware pieces featuring a variety of traditional and decorative patterns. The lot comprises six forks and six spoons of varying sizes and designs. Notable styles include the classic fiddle-head handle, popularised in the 19th century, alongside more ornate early 20th-century patterns featuring beaded borders and floral motifs. One particular highlight is a highly decorative spoon featuring intricate engraving across both the handle and the bowl. The construction consists of a base metal with a silver plated exterior finish. While specific manufacturer hallmarks are not clearly legible due to surface tarnish, the designs are consistent with major silver plate producers of the era such as Oneida and International Silver. A gold-coloured coin is included in the reference imagery for scale purposes only and does not form part of the lot. Measurements: Largest spoon approximately 210mm; average fork length 185mm.
