A 20th-century cut glass sugar bowl or preserve jar with silver-plated lid

A cut glass jar of compressed globular form featuring deep geometric cutting. The body is decorated with a central band of diamond-point facets situated below a shoulder of broad, horizontally-oriented rectangular facets. The vessel is fitted with a circular metal lid, likely electro-plated nickel silver (EPNS), which features a distinctive shaped bar handle. While the glass pattern resembles the Fostoria American pattern, the style of the mount is consistent with mid-20th century British production, such as those by Yeoman Plate. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on the exterior of the glass or the upper surface of the lid.
