Private issue by The Bradford Exchange for The Flying Scotsman Icon of Steam Official Commemorative Collection. This gold layered commemorative coin features a selective colour application on the obverse and a driving wheel design on the reverse. The lot includes the original Certificate of Authenticity, a black velvet-lined presentation case, and a blue drawstring pouch. This medallion commemorates the Flying Scotsman, which entered service on 24th February 1923 and was the first steam locomotive officially recorded reaching 100 mph.
