This pair of coins features aftermarket modifications by the Danbury Mint, consisting of selective 999 platinum and 24kt gold layering. One specimen displays a gold-layered portrait against a platinum-layered field, while the second specimen displays a platinum-layered portrait against a gold-layered field. The 2000 date represents the first year of issue for the Sacagawea dollar coin.
