Lot 330:
Description
A collection of six miniature ceramic souvenir items produced by the W.H. Goss factory, Stoke-on-Trent. Each piece is crafted from a fine off-white ceramic body, featuring multi-coloured transfer-printed heraldic crests and historical motifs, finished with hand-painted gilt-lined rims. The assortment comprises various classical and utilitarian forms: a bucket-shaped vessel for Filey; a globular vase with seahorse supporters; a twin-handled amphora depicting a bishop with the motto Manners Makyth Man; a miniature tankard for the Borough of Keighley; a long-necked bottle featuring the crest for Llanelly; and a barrel-shaped piece for Llanfair-Talhaiarn. These items represent the height of the early 20th-century craze for heraldic ceramic collecting. Average height ranges from approximately 35mm to 65mm.
