Description
This large brass and copper ewer is a sophisticated example of late 19th-century decorative metalware, reflecting the aesthetic principles of the Arts & Crafts movement. The piece is of bi-metal construction, featuring a tapered copper body fashioned from sheet metal with a visible vertical seam. It is enhanced by contrasting brass elements, including a flared spout, a central decorative collar, and a substantial stepped circular base. A long, slender wrought brass handle completes the elegant silhouette. Although unmarked, the design and assembly are characteristic of English domestic metalware from the late Victorian period. Dimensions: Height 53 cm.
