Description
An antique fire fender of three-sided rectangular form, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The construction features a broad, shaped brass base moulding supporting two parallel brass rails. These rails are secured by cast spherical ball finials, positioned at the corners and the centre of the front rail. The internal framework and rear supports are manufactured from iron or steel with a dark-coloured finish. No maker’s marks or signatures were identified during inspection.
