Description
A mid-20th century armchair in the Art Deco style, also referred to as a bridge chair, constructed from a light-toned hardwood such as beech or fruitwood with a polished finish. The design features a prominent horseshoe-shaped backrest with a decorative wood veneer applied to the reverse. The front arm supports are accented with vertical fluting, transitioning into square, tapering front legs. The curved front apron is detailed with a thin, dark ebonised wood inlay. The seat and inner backrest are upholstered in a mauve or taupe-coloured velvet fabric, finished with a matching fabric trim. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the piece.
