Lot 42:
Description
A large studio art glass sculpture of slender, organic form, terminating in a looped, open top. The piece is hand-blown with a transparent muted green casing surrounding internal spiralling ribbons of opaque white, deep burgundy, and dark green. The glass contains numerous small air bubbles, known as seeds, throughout the body. The solid base features a rough-snapped pontil mark that has been partially fire-polished. The design is in the style of mid-20th-century Murano or European studio glass production, resembling the work of makers such as Adam Jablonski or Mdina. No maker’s marks or signatures are present.
Height: approximately 45cm – 50cm.
