Description

This lot consists of two pedestal cake stands of late 19th or early 20th-century style. The first item is a ceramic comport or tazza of earthenware construction, featuring a lobed and scalloped circular top on a flared pedestal base. The decoration is relief-molded and hand-painted, depicting three orange-red floral blooms on long green stems, flanked by brown foliate branches. The rim and the base are finished with a green dashed border. The underside shows no maker’s marks or alphanumeric characters. The second item is a clear pressed glass cake stand with a wavy, scalloped rim. The plate features a central radial fluted design surrounded by an embossed border of laurel leaves. The pedestal base is finished with vertical ribbing. No factory marks are visible on the glass.
