A ceramic novelty liquor decanter manufactured for the James B. Beam Distilling Co. and produced by Regal China. The vessel is modelled as a treasure chest overflowing with coins finished in a metallic gold lustre, featuring a single inset blue glass gemstone. The body is decorated with a dark wood-effect glaze with simulated wood grain and lighter brown highlights. The lid is a separate removable cover which reveals a threaded ceramic pouring neck and spout. The underside of the base bears incised markings including CREATION OF JAMES B. BEAM DISTILLING CO, GENUINE REGAL CHINA, C. MILLER, and LIQUOR BOTTLE.
