JVC DD-5 Stereo Cassette Deck. Tested for Power

This is a solid-state JVC model DD-5 stereo cassette deck, manufactured by the Victor Company of Japan, Ltd. The unit features a silver-tone front panel with a direct drive system and a Sen-Alloy (SA) head. The interface includes a multi-mode fluorescent level display window and a mechanical three-digit tape counter with a reset button. Controls consist of a large rotary input level dial, a sliding output level control, and push-button switches for noise reduction including Super ANRS and Dolby B, alongside tape selection switches for SF/Norm, SA/CrO2, and Metal formulations. Front-facing ports include a 6.35mm headphone jack and twin left and right microphone jacks. The rear panel is marked as model DD-5B and includes a voltage selector set to 240V, a remote control port, a DIN record/play socket, and RCA line inputs and outputs. A service sticker from a firm in Ipswich is present on the rear casing.
