Lot 99:
Description
A pair of large, globular hand-blown glass jars, likely of 20th-century manufacture. The vessels are crafted from clear glass with a light green or aqua tint, featuring numerous small air bubbles and subtle surface striations. Each jar is designed with a wide, angled neck and a thick fire-polished rim, resting on a flattened base. A prominent rough-snapped pontil mark is visible on the underside of each piece, confirming the hand-blown manufacturing process. The jars are fitted with large, natural cork stoppers. These types of vessels are frequently identified as sweetie jars or apothecary display jars and were traditionally used for shop counter displays.
