Description
A mid-20th-century expressionist cast metal sculpture, likely bronze, depicting a stylised and elongated figure playing a violin. The work is characterised by its attenuated proportions and a rough, tactile surface texture consistent with the post-war modernist aesthetic. The sculpture is finished in a rich, dark brown patina with areas of lighter metallic highlights and spots of green verdigris oxidation, particularly visible on the integral circular base. The top surface of the base features several small, square impressed marks arranged in a cluster; these marks consist of stylised geometric symbols and do not provide a legible signature or foundry name. The bow is represented by a separate thin metal rod.
