Lot 150:
Description
This collection comprises three items of vintage metalware. Included is a small rectangular tin-plate utility or cash box, featuring a black painted ground with a decorative red line border to the lid. The hinged lid is fitted with a central folding metal handle. The front panel bears the lettering Pickfords Ltd flanking a central keyhole, indicating it was likely a promotional or utility item for the British transport company.
The lot further includes a telescopic travel cup in silver-plated white metal. The cup is constructed of three nested rings and includes a separate lid decorated with an embossed central sunburst motif surrounded by foliate and leaf scrollwork. The base demonstrates wear where the silver plating has worn to reveal the underlying yellow-toned base metal.
Accompanying these is a smaller three-ring collapsible drinking cup in a plain polished white metal, designed without a lid.
Pickfords Ltd box: approx 75 mm width
Large cup lid diameter: approx 50 mm
Small cup collapsed diameter: approx 40 mm.
