Description
A late Victorian architectural mantel clock, constructed from stained wood, possibly walnut or oak. The case features an architectural design with fluted pilasters, turned capitals, and carved foliate and scroll decorative elements. The circular cream-coloured dial displays Roman numeral hour markers, an outer minute track, and a central brass disk for setting the integrated alarm function. The movement is a mechanical, key-wound, two-train mechanism, accessed via a hinged brass-mounted glazed door. This style of clock is frequently associated with Thomas Fattorini’s Bugler Alarm patent. A winding key is included.
