Description
A United Kingdom 2019 bimetallic two-pound coin issued by the Royal Mint to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings. The obverse features the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, with the legend transcribed as ELIZABETH II D G REG F D 2 POUNDS. The reverse, designed by Stephen Taylor, depicts a tactical map of the five Normandy landing beaches including Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword, inscribed with D-DAY 75TH ANNIVERSARY and 2019. The coin is encapsulated in a DateStamp protective slab which includes a 1st class postage stamp and an official Royal Mail postmark from Tower Hill, London, dated 6 June 2019. The reverse of the slab bears a label with serial number B79-0429. This item is accompanied by its original presentation box and a Certificate of Authenticity noting it is part of a limited edition of 500 issues.
