Lot 424:
Description
A tall decorative vase manufactured from a darkly patinated metal, likely a copper-based alloy. The piece features a wide flared circular rim above a tapering neck that connects to a bulbous body. The main body is decorated with relief-moulded vertical fluting that tapers towards the bottom. The vessel is supported by a stepped, circular pedestal base that appears to be weighted. The construction indicates a multi-part assembly with a visible join between the neck and the body. The dark surface finish is worn in several places, particularly on the raised edges of the fluting and around the base, revealing a warmer reddish tone of the base metal.
Height: Approximately 300mm.
