A Mid-20th Century W. and M. Duncan Ltd Lithographed Confectionery Tin

A vintage cylindrical confectionery tin produced by W. and M. Duncan Ltd of Edinburgh, Scotland. The tin is constructed from lithographed metal and features a fitted, domed lid topped with a spherical, textured finial. The exterior decoration comprises a cream-coloured ground ornamented with vertical groupings of blue and brown stripes, interspersed with pink ribbon bows and multi-coloured floral sprays. The lid design mirrors the body with stripes arranged in a cross pattern and floral motifs in the quarters. The underside of the base bears a printed maker’s mark in blue ink, depicting two figures holding a circular device over a flame, with text reading W. and M. Duncan Ltd, Edinburgh, Scotland.
