Description

This lot comprises a selection of various books and ephemera, primarily consisting of mid-to-late 20th-century hardcovers alongside an auction programme and a 7-inch vinyl record. The collection features multiple volumes of contemporary fiction and thrillers, including Schindler’s Ark by Thomas Keneally, Exocet by Jack Higgins, Bahama Crisis and Windfall by Desmond Bagley, Goodbye Mickey Mouse by Len Deighton, The Hour of the Donkey by Anthony Price, Rumpelstiltskin by Ed McBain, and Spellbinder by Harold Robbins. Several of these books are bound in publisher’s cloth or boards and retain their original dust jackets, often bearing a circular monogram logo on the spine.

Other notable volumes include a two-volume set of God’s Great Plan by Llewellyn Williams, published by Covenant Publishing Co. Ltd., a copy of Tom Brown’s Schooldays by Thomas Hughes, and a small-format devotional work, Come Ye Apart by J.R. Miller, D.D. (Nelson). A paperback edition of Business Accounting 2 by Frank Wood is also included.

The accompanying ephemera includes a programme for the 18th Annual Liverpool Beatles Auction held on Saturday 23rd August 2008 at LIPA. The programme contains a 7-inch 45rpm single of Love Me Do by The Beatles on a red Parlophone label, which bears the handwritten names of the four band members across the label surface.
