Description
A United Kingdom cupro-nickel 50 pence coin issued in 2018 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman. The obverse features the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark. The reverse, designed by Natasha Ratcliffe, depicts the Snowman character flying with a young boy over a snowy landscape. This specimen is part of the DateStamp issue, encapsulated within a protective holder alongside a red Royal Mail first-class postage stamp. The stamp is postmarked Tower Hill, London EC3, dated 12 November 2018. The set is presented in a black case and includes a Certificate of Authenticity numbered A-43349, noting a maximum authorised release quantity of 2,018 units.
