James Kent Ltd Old Foley Earthenware Cream Jug with Rural Vignettes

A small earthenware cream jug manufactured by James Kent Ltd at the Old Foley Pottery in Longton, Staffordshire. The vessel features a bulbous body with a lobed, wavy rim and a scroll handle. The exterior is decorated with two distinct black transfer-printed rural scenes: one depicting a traditional English country cottage amongst trees, and the other a pastoral landscape featuring a figure at work. The rim is finished with a hand-applied red enamel line. The base bears the printed maker mark with Old Foley in blue script above JAMES KENT LTD. STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND in black block capitals.
