Modernist Carved Wood Tribal Style Figure CD Rack

A modernist wooden sculpture depicting a stylised, elongated humanoid figure, designed for use as a CD rack. The piece is crafted from stained and burnished wood and features black cord lacing. The sculpture comprises an oval-shaped face with simplified carved features mounted atop a vertical frame. The black cord is tensioned in a decorative zig-zag pattern between notched uprights to hold compact disc cases. The structure is supported by an integral rectangular box base, which features a carved six-pointed star or asterisk symbol on the front face. A small white inventory label with the characters 6081 is adhered to the rear of the frame. The work reflects a late 20th-century interpretation of primitive or tribal art forms.
