Lot 30:
Description
This four-piece carving set is presented in its original fitted red case. The set comprises a two-prong carving fork, a plain-edge carving knife, a serrated-edge knife, and a sharpening steel. Each piece features a tapered, cream-coloured handle, likely crafted from an early synthetic material such as celluloid, fitted with polished white metal collars. The blades and implements are made of steel. The design and presentation are consistent with the work of Hiram Wild of Sheffield, though the marks on the blades are worn and cannot be definitively read. The original red presentation box features a cream satin-lined interior with red fabric accents.
