Two Chinese San You Cork Carving Dioramas

Two Chinese cork carving dioramas, traditionally known as Fuzhou cork carvings, each housed in a glass display case with a red lacquer-style frame. The first piece is fan-shaped and contains an intricate hand-carved cork landscape featuring a multi-tiered pagoda, a smaller bridge-side pavilion, gnarled pine trees, and cranes set against a dark background. The second piece is circular and features a similar landscape scene with a prominent central pine tree, a pagoda, and cranes, mounted on a red-patterned rectangular base with decorative fretwork cut-outs. The frames and bases are finished in a red stain with a dark mottled decorative pattern. The reverse of the circular piece bears two applied labels: a diamond-shaped orange and white label featuring a floral icon and the printed characters SAN YOU, and a rectangular white label with a red border printed with MADE IN CHINA in English and Chinese script.
