Late 20th Century Carved Hardwood Relief Panel of a Buddha Face. COLLECTION ONLY

A decorative wall panel carved in high relief, depicting the face of the Buddha in a meditative pose. The figure is rendered with downcast eyes, a broad nose, full lips, and elongated earlobes, topped with traditional coiled snail-shell curls. The panel is constructed from five vertical planks of a light-coloured hardwood, likely teak or suar wood, which have been joined together. The reverse shows the joinery and is fitted with two metal keyhole hangers for wall mounting. This style of carving is characteristic of late 20th-century decorative art.
